Ladies and Gentlemen, I Give You the Next President of the U.S.....

I haven't given up hope yet. I know Obama is behind Clinton in number of delegates, but I still harbor hope that he can pull it out. If he gets the nomination, I honestly believe he can win the election over McCain. Maybe I'm just a pie-in-the-sky optimist about this. Maybe I'm just terrified and thus in denial. Who knows? I'm just going to keep telling myself the BS is almost over and that positive change is on the way.

And if McCain does end up as president, well, I can think of worse things. President Thompson would have been a f*cking scary, SCARY thing. So glad that one went nowhere.
McCain won't be a disaster, just not much of an improvement over the current bunch of knuckleheads. I was hoping the Dems would use the last 8 years to figure out a candidate and get the job done. They didn't. I'm ticked off at Kennedy for trying to split the party and destroy any chance at either candidate competing in the general election. Now the Dems have condemmed us to eight more years of militaristic aggression and the economic consequences of trying to pay for it. I will vote for the candidate I want, but I think we are fighting the tide on this one. Thanks for the comment.
Amen, Arthur. Couldn't have said it better myself, though I am praying every night Kirk is right and I'm just too cynical about politics these days. Hey -perhaps a Thompson in the White House wouldn't be so bad. Are you thinking of running anytime soon? : )
Uh, thanks, that's flattering, but I have way too many skeletons in the closet to allow the media near me. I hope Kirk is right too, but I fear a huge political mistake has been made by the Dems. Why don't you run for office? Or at least your local school board? There are changes needed in all areas of government.
Ah, my friend...we all have skeletons....
The one thing that scares me about McCain winning is the appointment of Supreme Court Justices. There are, I think, three that could be leaving in the next few years and I really want a Democrat in office when they go. McCain's moderate nature only extends so far after all. He could appoint judges who would start putting the serious stink-eye on Roe vs. Wade.

Mistakes have been made, I agree. Many. But I remain optimistic. Must continue creating positive waves of energy. Americans really want change. We can win this.
